Ann Wise Averill Miller

Ann Wise Averill Miller, age 72, fortified with the sacraments of the Holy Catholic Church, passed peacefully on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 under the care of Hospice Savannah, surrounded by her husband of 45 years, family and friends. She was born October 9, 1939 in St. Louis, MO and lived in various places during her life, making each location a home for her family while being an inspiration to those around her. Ann and her husband eventually settled in Savannah, GA, where she was a communicant of the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist.

Survivors include her husband H. Richard Dick Miller of St. Louis and her children Rick Cara, Greg Joanna, Brad Melanie, and Peggy Lorenzo Mastrandrea; as well as eleven grandchildren: Alex, Hank, Aidan, Jamey, Clara, Grace, Michael, Andrew, Luca, Massimo, and Enzo; and two sisters, Margaret Averill Sicking, and Caron Averill O'Dower. She was preceded in death by her parents Walter Hollis Averill and Margaret Lamy Averill; two sisters Susan Averill Meier and Barbara Averill Love; daughter-in-law Jamey Lynn Miller; and brother-in-law Michael Morse.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM on September 15, 2012 at the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist in Savannah, GA followed by services at Annunziata Catholic Church and internment at Calvary Cemetery in St. Louis at a later date. Family and friends will celebrate her life at a private reception to be held at The Chatham Club in Savannah following the funeral Mass.

The family respectfully suggests that in lieu of flowers, remembrances for Ann be made to The American Cancer Society.
